Mercedes Tyres

A-Class

Tyres for the Mercedes A-class have been specifically designed for fitment to smaller compact cars. Working in harmony with the vehicles suspension and chassis, these tyres have been engineered to offer shorter braking distances on both dry and wet roads, low rolling resistance for better fuel efficiency and CO2 emissions, enhanced safety and overall more comfortable handling characteristics.

Some of the tread design features that achieve such performance would include optimised 3D edges in the tread design to allow for shorter braking distances on wet roads, and larger tread blocks that enhance safety when cornering.

A typical original fitment for the A-class would be a ContiPremiumContact 5 manufactured by German tyre manufacturer CONTINENTAL.

Note: Only tyres marked with a ‘MO’ on the sidewall of the tyre.are approved for fitment as original equipment to new vehicles.

C-Class

For the Mercedes C-Class tyres need to be able to cope with more engine power and therefore high speeds, combined with a more aggressive driving style. These tyres need to be able to cope adequately with all weather conditions, but must excel in the road grip they offer especially when cornering. In addition they must not compromise fuel consumption or mileage. To achieve this, tyre manufacturers use a special tyre compound that has a high proponent of synthetic rubber for ultra sports performance and high mileage, and features highly sophisticated tread designs for optimum low rolling resistance.

A typical original fitment for the C-class would be a ContiSportContact 5 manufactured by German tyre manufacturer CONTINENTAL.

Note: Only tyres marked with a ‘MO’ on the sidewall of the tyre.are approved for fitment as original equipment to new vehicles.

E-Class

For the Mercedes E-Class, demands ultra sports performance, comfort, low tyre noise and smooth running in equal measures from its tyres. Because of this, and to meet these demands, Mercedes E-class tyres feature unique characteristics, that may include;

1. Run Flat Technology – the ability for the tyre to continue supporting the vehicles weight for a limited time after it has suffered a puncture. 2. Asymmetric Tread Design – different tread patterns on the inside and outside of the tread area. 3. Groove Fences – specially designed tread groves that break up the flow of air over the tread area, thus reducing noise 4. 3 Dimensions sipes for improved handling.

Typical original fitment for the E-class would be a RE050 manufactured by Japanese tyre manufacturer BRIDGESTONE.

Note: Only tyres marked with a ‘MO’ on the sidewall of the tyre.are approved for fitment as original equipment to new vehicles.

S-Class & CL

A reference point for the Ultra High Performance segment, tyres for the Mercedes S-Class & CL ranges are characterised by an asymmetric tread pattern. This makes them ideal for all top of the range sports and high-powered cars becase this improves all round braking performances and enhances handling and control when corninring at high speeds.

These tyres will sometimes also feature ‘nano-composite’ compounds that ensures maximum grip and stability, whilst the structural integrity of the tyres casing and tread design also improves steering response, which is essential in sports driving, and also ensures uniform tread wear.

Additionally special “S-shaped” grooves in the tread area reduce noise levels and improve the tyres comfort for hte driver.

A typical original fitment for the S-class would be a PZero manufactured by Italian tyre manufacturer PIRELLI or ContiSportContact 2 manufactured by German tyre manufacturer CONTINENTAL.

Note: Only tyres marked with a ‘MO’ on the sidewall of the tyre.are approved for fitment as original equipment to new vehicles.

CLS / SLK / SL / SLS AMG
